Sunshine, warmth, space for now but storms await

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Gorgeous weather and lowered humidity is here the next two days but then we’ll see three days of rainy weather back-to-back-to-back.

Temps stay above average all week so the spring blooms should be developing fast.

If you’re hanging outside on this gorgeous Monday into the evening, sunset is now after 8:00 p.m. That’s a big moment! Here’s some fun science and ‘star-gazing’ for the family before ‘bedtime’ on a school night. Starting at 8:59 p.m. and lasting until 9:05, the International Space Station has a lengthy flyover. The peak angle off the horizon is 78 degrees.

Tuesday morning brings light jacket weather. It’s all dry but we’re a touch on the cool side: 47 degrees around Knoxville. From there, it’s a fast climb to the mid-to-upper 70s. There’s not much active weather besides sunshine so be mindful of sunburns!

Wednesday only has a slim chance for rain, primarily on the farthest west stretches of our Cumberland Plateau counties.
