M&S has issued a reassuring message to its customers regarding their safety.
Following of the tragic death of Sarah Everard, countless women have been sharing their stories of feeling unsafe when walking alone on the streets.
Women have shared tales of being followed, harassed and some even attacked.
Now, M&S has let everyone know – not just women – that stores promise to provide a ‘safe space’ for those who feel in danger.
In a statement shared on Twitter, M&S said: “Our stores are safe spaces for everyone in the community.
“If you feel unsafe please come in and stay as long as you need to. Our colleagues are there to help anyone who needs it.”

The company’s efforts to provide a safe place have been very well received by other Twitter users.
One said: “What a great thing to say. An amazing service you provide online and in store. I have a Service Dog and she goes to Marks and Spencer, always made so welcome.”
Another replied: “This made me cry. Short, says everything it needed to, a lovely dignified message but I could burst with emotion reading it. Thank you Marky’s we feel your love.”
